In an interview with Sujoy Ghosh for Zoom TV, Amitabh Bachchan spoke candidly about Taapsee Pannu, Shah Rukh Khan and Ranveer Singh.
About Ranveer Singh in Gully Boy:
Amitabh Bachchan was all praise for Ranveer and Gully Boy. "I actually saw Gully Boy ten times to be able to match or even to be able to come near Ranveer Singh," said Mr. Bachchan. "I met him last night and I told him thank you so much Ranveer, I’ve copied you, I’ve tried tocopy you but I’ve failed miserably."
About Shah Rukh Khan in Swades:
"Someone that has looked at him as an actor," said Mr. Bachchan, "I have always enjoyed the ones that he’s done out of the ones that he’s done he’s created his images on. I loved him in Swades. I thought it was one of his best performances."
About Tapsee Pannu in Badla:
Amitabh Bachchan’s recent film, Badla, was starring him opposite the new age star, Taapsee Pannu, who has also appeared with him in Pink. “You’re not pulling the audiences anymore with your name anymore,” said Mr. Bachchan. “It’s the younger stars, the younger generation they are the more popular ones. I’m happy that there was a big female star that was there and I was just on the side. I don’t mind that.”
Ranveer Singh also got one of Amitabh Bachchan’s handwritten notes which Ranveer shared on his Instagram.
“Sab se khaas puraskaar,” Ranveer posted as he shared a picture of Amitabh Bachchan’s note.
Amitabh Bachchan also sent notes to Siddhant Chaturvedi and Vijay Varma which both actors shared on their Instagram as well. Siddhant Chaturvedi played MC Sher and Vijay Varma played the character of Moeen in Gully Boy. The film garnered critical acclaim as well as resounding box office success worldwide.
