Adnan Sami cannot get over Lataji's compliment!
While the Bhar Do Jholi qawwali has caused quite a controversial uproar recently, there is no denying that the entire nation is already humming the tune, including the master singer herself, Lata Mangeshkar! Adnan Sami's version of the qawwali for Salman Khan’s next has won the rare approval of Lataji and has sent Adnan over the moon with glee. An ecstatic Adnan tells DNA, "I have just died and gone to heaven. Lataji called to tell me she liked my rendition of the qawwali. Coming from the queen of melody, whom I idolise, it was a pat on the back that I will cherish forever."
The 49 year old singer even expressed his excitement through a tweet saying, Got d ULTIMATE ph call frm @mangeshkarlata ji!She luvd my #BharDoJholiMeri ! Im Over d Moon!Luv u Didi!?? #BajrangiBhaijaan @BeingSalmanKhan,” the “Sun zara” singer tweeted.
The singer duo go way back as Adnan recalls in the interview, "She has always been very warm and encouraging. I grew up hearing and seeing her idolised by my father. He couldn't sleep until he heard Lataji's lullaby Dheere Se Aaja Ri Ankhiyan Mein. When I came to India my one wish was to meet her. And when Lataji sang for me in the film Lucky I felt I has achieved the acme of my career.”
Interestingly, Salman seems to be the lucky factor in their connection! "Lucky in which I had the privilege of composing and singing a duet with Lataji, starred Salman. And now when Lataji has praised me it is for a song in a Salman movie,” Adnan added.
Now he hopes that Lataji watches the upcoming film, Bajrangi Bhaijaan as he’s certain she will love it, "Lataji will love it. It's all about love between the people of India and Pakistan. And she knows she has as many millions of fans in Pakistan as she does in India."
