It has now finally been confirmed that Shah Rukh Khan will be playing India's first astronaut, Rakesh Sharma in a biopic. Besides this, Bollywood will see two more biopics in the form of ‘83’ and ‘Salute’. While 83 will see Ranveer Singh play the role of Kapil Dev, Salute will depict the journey of astronaut Rakesh Sharma.
The makers of the film Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur had approached the My Name Is Khan actor for the biopic, as per a report in DNA newspaper. Earlier King Khan had said at an event that he has signed any new project and is meeting the producers. The Raees star has given his nod to the much-awaited film as per the report and will start shooting for the same in September this year. A source told DNA, “SRK wants to start shooting in September and continue for two months before he starts promoting Zero, which releases on Christmas. After that, he will resume Salute’s shoot from January 2019. The film is expected to release next year.”
Ad filmmaker-turned-director Mahesh Mathai will helm the biopic. This biopic sounds interesting, doesn’t it?
