Krrish is a superhero film directed, produced, and written by Rakesh Roshan, starring Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Rekha and Naseeruddin Shah. It was released in 2006, as a sequel to Hrithik’s 2003 film Koi Mil Gaya, and was followed by Krrish 3 in 2013. All three movies were appreciated by Hrithik fans and did well at the box office. Last year, Rakesh Roshan announced that he would soon be making the fourth installment of this series, titled Krrish 4. Now Hrithik has also confirmed that the sequel is happening and shared that it is in the final scripting stage.
“So, we are in the final stage of the script. It's script's final stage is where we are at. That's what I would say,” he said.
When asked about whether Krrish 4 would be released during Christmas in 2020, clashing with Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar’s Bachan Pandey, Hrithik said it would depend on what he decides to do next. “If I plan to do another film before Krrish 4 then maybe that will shift,” he said.
The Krrish franchise covers three generations of the Mehra family. In Koi Mil Gaya, Hrithik plays Rohit Mehra, a mentally challenged boy who encounters an extraterrestrial being. In Krrish and Krrish 3, he plays Rohit Mehra’s son Krishna Mehra, who eventually becomes a superhero. Meanwhile, in his recent film Super 30, Hrithik essayed the role of Anand Kumar, a math genius in Bihar, who annually prepares 30 talented students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, to pass the entrance exams of a renowned university in India. Super 30 has performed beyond expectations at the box office and collected more than Rs 125 crore in its third week. The film marks the Hrithik Roshan's comeback after 2 years.
