The Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff-starrer released yesterday and has already fallen prey to piracy website Tamilrockers. The high-octane film which pits the two stars as rivals started a successful run at the box office, collecting a whopping INR50 crore on its opening day and becoming the biggest Hindi opener of 2019. However, much to the dismay of the film’s cast and crew, the October 2 release has been leaked by the torrent website and is now available for free streaming and download. The Siddharth Anand directorial is only behind Avengers: Endgame which collected INR53 crore on its first day this year.

War is still second to last year’s Aamir Khan-starrer Thugs of Hindostan, by almost INR7.5 million. The latter garnered INR50.75 crore on the day it hit cinema screens and still holds the record for best opening for a Hindi film, beaten only by Baahubali 2 and Avengers: Endgame.

War, which has also become the biggest opener of Hrithik and Tiger’s careers, will not be affected greatly. As if competition from Joker and Sye Raa Narsimha Reddy was not enough that the film has now been leaked by the Tamilrockers. While Joker collected INR5.7 crore on Sunday, Sye Raa (Hindi version) managed INR1.5 crore. Ahead of the release Hrithik tweeted, “Hi guys! I have a personal request to make. We have made War with a lot of hard work, blood, sweat and love. Please protect our spoilers when you see the film because it will immensely add to everyone’s movie watching experience. Trusting you all with this.” Echoing his sentiments, Tiger added, “Hey guys! Spoilers are never fun and it impacts movie watching experience and business. We have all worked really hard to make War a big screen experience and I request you to protect our film, our work. Protect our spoilers and please give us lots of love.”
