Hrithik Roshan Speaks Up On Vikas Bahl. THIS Is What He Has to Say
Hrithik Roshan’s next film ‘Super 30’ is with Vikas Bahl who is accused of sexual misconduct
The allegations by Tanushree Dutta against Nana Patekar has literally and figuratively let out a can of worms. From the corporate field to journalism to comedy, women have been coming out in droves to make statements against sexual predators and have started naming and shaming men who have misbehaved with them.
One of the biggest names to have been accused is Vikas Bahl, the former partner at Phantom films. In a lengthy article, a woman who claimed to have been sexually harassed by the Queen director narrated her ordeal to a web-portal. The repercussions were swift.
While his former colleagues Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane apologised and confessed that they did little to stop him, there was one person who also got dragged into the storm – Hrithik Roshan.
Social media was swift in condemning Hrithik for continuing to work with Vikas Bahl who is directing him in the movie Super 30, based on a mathematician from Bihar. The silence of several Bollywood bigwigs including Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan and others have been called out in the media.
Finally now, Hrithik has spoken up. While he hasn’t outright condemned Bahl, he has put the onus on the film’s producers. However he made it clear that he wouldn’t like to work with anyone who has been accused of such a heinous crime.
‘I am away and have access to only sporadic information. I have requested the producers of Super 30 take stock of the facts and take a harsh stand if need be. This is not be hushed or brushed under the carpet. All proven offenders must be punished and all exploited people must be empowered and given strength to speak up,’ Hrithik wrote.
Incidentally, Vikas has also lost out on an Amazon series he was to direct.
