Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone will be sharing the big screen together in the upcoming remake of the hit film Satte Pe Satta, originally starring Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini! Rumours were initially abuzz that Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan were in talks for the remake, however, news then broke about Hrithik being roped in to step into Big B's shoes in the film. It has only now been announced that Farah Khan and Rohit Shety have also locked down the main female lead as Deepika.
It was around the beginning of the year that Rohit Shetty and Farah Khan announced that they would be teaming up for a huge project together. The maker of Simmba is all set to produce the big Bollywood number and reports revealed that it would be an official remake of the cult classic Satte Pe Satta that starred Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini in leading roles. The film narrates the story of seven brothers and is yet to be given a title. Several big names in the industry had been vying the spot for the leading role in the remake before Hrithik took on the role.
A source close to the development revealed that "Both Farah and Rohit wanted Deepika Padukone in the movie because not only do they love her but she fits the role to the T. When DP debuted, everyone felt she had an uncanny resemblance to Hema ji in terms of her beauty as well. When Farah narrated the story to DP, she loved it and instantly gave her nod."
The film will mark Deepika’s next big project after ’83 in which she will be romancing her husband, Ranveer Singh. The film will also mark the third time that she will be teaming up with Farah and for a second time with Rohit Shetty. it will however, mark the first time that DP will be paired alongside Hrithik Roshan in a film. Previously, both the actors have expressed their wanting to work in a film together but for the longest time, thins were not falling into place.
