1 The Brothers Sun

The Brothers Sun, created by Brad Falchuk and Byron Wu, launched on Netflix in January.  The show follows a powerful Taiwanese crime syndicate. Speaking on it, its creator told TUDUM,  “There are people shooting at them and trying to kill them. But the conflicts they’re having — the problems they’re having internally, the emotional problems — are very, very universal.” The show was cancelled in March leaving its fans and its star Michelle Yeoh disappointed.

Speaking on that, she had posted on Instagram, “Heartbroken… and finding it so hard to understand why… however, I am so very proud of My ‘Brothers Sun’ family and what we presented to the world. heads held high.”

2 Time Bandits

Apple TV+’s  live-action comedy, Time Bandits, premiered on July 24. The series journeys across time and space with a quirky band of thieves and their latest addition: an 11-year-old history enthusiast named Kevin, led by Friends star Lisa Kudrow, who is currently featured in Netflix’s The Good Deed. The news of its cancellation came in September this year.

3  My Lady Jane

My Lady Jane stands out as one of the most surprising series cancellations this year. The series premiered on Prime Video in June, and “was a tale of true love and high adventure set in an alt-universe of action, history, fantasy, comedy, romance, and rompy-pompy.” It was cancelled in August 2024.

4 KAOS

Netflix’s series KAOS, inspired by Greek mythology, centers around Riddy, Orpheus, Caneus, and Ari. These characters, hailing from diverse backgrounds, are intertwined in a cosmic struggle against the chaos brought forth by Zeus. The series courted chaos when it was cancelled after one season in August.

5 Our Flag Means Death

LGBTQIA+ series Our Flag Means Death also made it to the cancellation pile after a two season run. Its creator David Jenkins wrote on Instagram, “I can officially confirm that we’ve reached the end of the road. At least as far as this sweet show is concerned. After many complimentary meetings, conversations, etc it seems there is no alternate home for our crew. Thank you to all of you who sent us out with tremendous love and care. Your campaign was noticed across the industry. But more importantly it made all of us who worked on this show better able to deal with the loss.”

6 Chucky

Syfy’s popular series Chucky was cancelled this year after a three season run. The news came out in September this year. You can watch Chucky on Netflix in India. Season 3 continued Chucky settled in with the US’  First Family, within the walls of the White House.
