The Internet is very pissed off with Nick Jonas, who this morning, engaged in an interaction with Elon Musk on X. It seems Jonas started his day on a less-than-ideal note, as fans of the singer compared his exchange with his support to Musk. Musk and his platform X have found themselves at the center of numerous controversies in the aftermath of the US Presidential Elections. Per a report by non-profit group Center for Countering Digital Hate, Elon Musk’s political posts on X amassed 17.1 billion views since he endorsed Donald Trump in July – over 2 times as many views as all the US “political campaigning ads” that X has recorded in its political ads disclosure dataset in the same period.

The report further mentions that at least 87 of Musk’s posts this year have promoted claims about the US elections that fact-checkers have rated as false or misleading, amassing 2 billion views. A number of celebrities and esteemed publications have begun to leave X in light of  Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy’s involvement on a new project called the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Nick Jonas – Elon Musk exchanges gets a thumbs down from the Internet

Nick and Musk’s conversation on X started when Musk posted a gif from the singer’s album, accompanied by the caption, “My, how the tables have turned!”. Musk’s gif was in response to Tesla’s assertion that X’s profit has increased following the US Presidential Elections.

Tesla Owners Silicon Valley had tweeted, “Wait…. everyone thought Elon Musk was destroying the Brand of Tesla and he shouldn’t be involved in politics. Tesla is up 100% since Donald Trump won!” Nick also commented under the .gif posted by Musk with “Take us to the Year 3000.”

His comment, however, hit the raw nerve of the Internet, who replied with comments such as,  “you were supposed to be my favorite Jonas brother…”

“I know it’s hard for you guys to comprehend but rich people don’t care about us; even Nick Ionas.”

“Tweeting at Elon Musk is definitely a choice.”

“Must be nice to be so free from the burden of intelligence.”

Fans also demanded the singer delete his tweet. Jonas had expressed his backing for Democratic President Joe Biden during the 2020 election. He has not released a formal response in light of the criticism.
