Holi, popularly known as the festival of colours, is a yearly festivity celebrated by Hindus to welcome the beginning of spring and the end of winter. Participants take to the streets with water pipes and coloured powder thrown in the air, normally dressed in their whitest clothes to make the colours stand out. The holiday is all about having messy fun with friends and family in all shades of the rainbow. Though Holi originates from the Indian subcontinent, it is also celebrated all over the world in countries like the United States, Canada, South Africa and all across Asia.
