Famed TV star Hina Khan has always managed to make it to the news. The actress has starred in several famous TV serials, one her first and most famous one being 2009’s Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and also appeared on the reality TV show, Big Boss season 11. Earlier this year, she also made an appearance at the Cannes Film Festival which was criticized by the editor of a famous Bollywood magazine. Now, after signing her debut film Lines, it looks like the actress has bagged yet another project which is an Indo-Hollywood film based on H.G. Wells’ famous novel, The Country of the Blind.

Speaking of signing her new project, Hina said, The Country of Blind was the first script that Rahat Kazmi had narrated to me, even before Lines. And I knew I had to do this one. It was signed on before Cannes happened, but yes, we definitely got international producers on board after my Cannes appearance. Country of Blind’ has given our entire team this chance to create something that has never been seen before.” The film is being shot in both, English as well as Hindi.

When asked if films are now her focus, hina stated, “The focus is on challenging work. The actor inside me is happy and satisfied when I begin my day looking forward to doing something new and end it knowing what I did yesterday. My focus is to grow as an actor and keep entertaining my audience with variations they have never seen me doing before.” Directed by Rahat Kazmi, The Country of the Blind will be shot in the Himalayas. The film is set in 1800s and tells the story of the inhabitants of a valley who are visually impaired. But despite not being able to see, they seem to be living a fulfilled life without any attachment with the outside world.
