Here's why Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan's Thugs of Hindostan Has Become the Most Expensive Outdoor Shoot

Yash Raj Films's Diwali release has been extensively shot in Malta and other unique locations and is all set to be a fabulous viewing experience

One of the most awaited films this year is Yash Raj Films' Thugs of Hindostan that brings together two of Indian cinema's biggest superstars - Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan for the first time ever. Over the last few months, several looks from the film have been 'leaked' but of course, there has been no official confirmation about the same. The plot of the film too seems to be pretty much under wraps.

However, what is certain is that the makers are leaving no stones unturned to ensure audiences are treated to a big screen visual extravaganza like never before. Apparently, Thugs... is one of the biggest ever films to release in modern times and it is being made on an unimaginable scale. The team shot in Malta to bring to life a fantasy action adventure that will visually stand out for audiences and it seems this schedule is the most expensive outdoor shoot in the history of Indian cinema!  A source says, “Viktor (Vijay Krishna Acharya) wanted to create a world where fantasy and reality seem to merge visually. It needed a pristine, unseen location and a setting where two huge ships can fit in naturally. The two ships were also built in Malta by international teams with expertise in constructing massive ships for Hollywood films. The team shot in various, incredible locations in Malta and stayed there close to 45 days. When you add all this up, the cost of shooting Thugs of Hindostan here becomes the biggest for any film’s outdoor location in the history of Indian cinema.”

Thugs of Hindostan is all set to become a fabulous viewing experience too. The film that also stars Katrina Kaif in her hottest desi avatar and Fatima Sana Shaikh (the girl who played Aamir Khan's daughter in Dangal)  in a key role, is set to release worldwide in IMAX.
