Rani Mukerji is an incredible actress and we look at her best performances in her career as she celebrates her birthday today. Rani's career has been a very interesting one indeed

Happy Birthday to Rani Mukerji. As Rani celebrates her birthday, we shall today look back on all the great performances Rani delivered in her career. Born in Mumbai to Ram Mukherjee, an Indian film director, Rani made her leading role debut as a strong female protagonist in the film Raja Ki Ayegi Baraat. She has made a valuable contribution to Bollywood with her radiant smile and her honest emotionality and we wish her the very best.

1. Hichki

In this film, Rani played a teacher with Tourette's Syndrome. Marked as a 'comeback' film of sorts, Rani portrayed this role to perfection. She combined vulnerability and strength and gave the performance of a lifetime as the whole film rests on her shoulders completely.

2. No one Killed Jessica

In this murder thriller, Rani's role was of a news reporter who is following the story. Alongside Vidya Balan, Rani Mukerji is one of those actresses who have proven that mainstream Bollywood films don't always need a hero to work. The film received critical acclaim unanimously.

3. Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna

This romantic drama by Karan Johar was a controversial one that later drew a lot of ire from conservative circles. However, Rani's performance was top-notch as she was paired opposite Shah Rukh Khan and the story was of forbidden love.

4. Bunty Aur Babli

This was a Bollywood take on Bonnie and Clyde and Rani appeared alongside Abhishek Bachchan. Rani played the role of a young woman from a small town who is a bit of a trickster. Rani's upbeat performance and mischievous twinkle in her eye won her many hearts.

5. Black

In Black, Rani played her most challenging role. She played the role of a deaf and mute girl. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and appearing alongside Amitabh Bachchan, the film was quite a challenge. But Rani finished the challenge with flying colors.

There are many other films of Rani which we have also loved such as Hum Tum, Chalte Chalte and of course Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Which are your favorite performances of Rani? Let us know in the comments.
