Bollywood actress Vijeyta Pandit who was last seen 25 years ago on the silver screen contemplating coming back to the silver after a gap of 25 years! Tha actress who was best known for her performance in the super hit film in 1981 called Love Story opposite Kumar Gaurav, was married to music director Aadesh Shrivastav who passed away recently, succumbing to cancer.
Remembering him fondly, Vijeyta says in an interview to Mumbai Mirror, “Aadeshji was a wonderful husband. I still remember the day he asked my father for my hand. He was a hero to his sons, thinking about him is painful. It leaves me feeling depressed.” The actress who appeared in several films in the ‘80s disappeared after marriage preferring to concentrate on home and kids, but how she says that films might keep her busy. “There were lots of offers but I was busy with my family. The kids were young and needed me around. Now that they are grown up, I want to start working again. It’ll keep me busy. It is better than sitting at home, alone, and moping,” she says, adding that she has verbally spoken to some filmmaker friends but is in no desperate hurry. “I am waiting for a good role. I don't want to do just anything. It has to be something meaningful and if it comes along, I can think of returning to acting in the new year.”
Vijeyta also wants to realize her late husband’s dream of making an actor out of her son. She says, “Aadeshji wanted our firstborn, Anivesh, who is 19 now, to be an actor. Music is in his blood, my son is a fabulous singer and composer, but his passion is acting. His father too wanted to see him on screen. He's talented and a super dancer.”
The proud mother admits that the film industry has been very supportive and helpful, “The film industry is my extended family.”
