Grammys 2020: Three Worst Looks From The Night
The good, the bad and the ugly all came out on the red carpet at the Grammy Awards this year. While some looks were tolerable, others just failed to make the cut.
Celebrities, musicians, singers and songwriters all flooded to the Grammy Awards red carpet, just after news of Kobe Bryant’s death broke. If you weren’t aware, the Grammys are supposed to be one of the most bold and outrageous award ceremonies, sartorially speaking. Red carpet coverage was opened by television host and producer Ryan Seacrest, as celebrities began to sashay down the red carpet and make their mark ahead of the awards. From Ariana Grande to Billy Eilish, to Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra and Alicia Keys, the who’s who of the music industry were present at the award show.
Many celebrities won big, taking home multiple awards in categories including Song Of The Year, Album Of The Year, Record Of The Year and Best Rap Song of The Year. Everyone was dressed to the nines as they made their way to grace the red carpet at the Staples Centre, Los Angeles. From fancy gowns to, to trailing dresses, to colourful tuxedos and plunging necklines; the Grammys red carpet had it all. While some looks made the cut, others failed to impress. And with that being said, we round up three of the worst looks from the night.
1. Billie Eilish
Billie Eilish at the red carpet
Billie Eilish made history at the Grammy Awards this year for being the first woman ever to win four Grammys in one night. She was nominated in a number of categories, from which she won Album of The Year, Song of The Year, Record of The Year and New Artist of The Year. While she fared very well in terms of awards, her fans were not quite impressed with her look for the night. The 18-year-old was clad in (well we don’t even know what to call it!) a sparkly Gucci suit which featured satin cuffs and an oversized jacket. The look was teamed with a matching turtle neck and fingerless gloves which revealed her rather bold manicure. Billie Eilish wore a net mask to cover her mouth and we really don’t know what much else to say about her unappealing look.
2. Dua Lipa
Dua Lipa at the red carpet
Whether Dua Lipa was paying homage the 90’s or decided her look rather last minute; only she knows. We’ve been fans of the singer for some time now, but this look was disappointing to say the least. Minimum effort, zero creativity and we don’t even know what to say about the hair. Dua Lipa was clad in a long silk skirt which was teamed with a white silk top. It seemed that Dua Lipa stepped out of a 90’s girl band with her parted in the middle and tied back with two thick strands of hair coming out on either side. She rounded off the look with a diamond strand around her neck and bold blue eyeshadow which was a failed attempt at adding a pop of colour to her look.
3. Billy Porter

Okay we get it, the Grammys are supposed to be bold and outrageous when it comes to dressing but Billy Porter has the tendency to take things to another level. Case in point, his look for the Grammy Awards. Billy Porter wore a blue crystal jumpsuit by fashion label Baja East and quite literally shut down the red carpet. The jumpsuit featured beaded tassels along the bottom of the pants which was teamed with a pair of encrusted platforms. He wore a matching clutch bag and silver accessories but what really took the cake was his headgear. He wore a lampshade as a head which opened and closed automatically. We have no words.
After looking at the three worst looks of the night, we really wonder what went down when these looks were being put together.
