Parenthood  is  the  best thing to happen to Karan Johar. For some time now  he has been toying with the idea  of doing a  film on  his experience  of becoming a father. Karan  Johar’s new film tentatively titled Good News will feature Akshay Kumar and Kareena  Kapoor Khan as a couple trying to have a baby.

Many  of the  incidents shown  in  the  film will be based on the  thought-processes and  experiences  that Karan  personally went through when his twins Roohi and Yash were born through surrogate-motherhood. Says a  source close to Karan, “Parenthood is something Karan and Kareena, who are very close to one another, have gone through  very recently.  The pangs of parenthood are fresh in the minds and hearts of both.  And that's the reason why Karan was keen to have Kareena on board for Good News. As  for Akshay Kumar,  Karan Johar was  keen to have  him on board  for a very long time.”

Good News is  a tentative  title. It may change, since  Karan and Akshay feel  audiences would  perceive  it to be  a film on the media and journalism.
