The much-awaited final season of ‘Game of Thrones’ has been disappointing for its fans for the apparent loose plot and flow, ending characters abruptly and for many other reasons. However, the worst of them all has been the editing error.
Just last week, the world saw a Starbucks-like takeaway cup make a cameo in the epic drama. The cup was spotted next to Daenerys Targaryen during the celebrations of victory at Winterfell post the fight. Just as the blunder was beginning to die, some keen-eyed fans thought they saw Jaime Lannister's hand in the last episode. Jamie’s hand, which had been severed in Season 3, somehow showed up again.
But, hold on!
It’s rather important to note, that the hand didn’t appear in the actual episode or behind the scenes, but appeared in a promotional still image on HBO’s official website, newsweek reports.
Here’s a refresher. In Season 3 of HBO’s hit show, Jamie Lannister travels with Brienne of Tarth after escaping for the Stark captivity. Unfortunately, the duo gets captured again and in the fight to save Brienne from being sexually assaulted by enemy soldiers, Jamie has his sword-hand cut off.
Upon arrival at King’s Landing, his sister and lover on the show, Cersei, gives him a prosthetic hand made out of gold.
Trying to help Cersei escape the devastation caused by the mad mother of Dragons aka Daenerys Targaryen in the last episode, Jamie sneaks into King’s Landing to meet the manipulative sister/lover aka Cersie at the Red Keep. However, soon after the two reunited, they realized their fates are sealed.
Before their characters end, the two are seen sharing their final moment in the arms of each other. What was supposed to be a strong and emotional ending to their complex relationship, turned out to be a rather comical end as the world saw Jamie’s hand grow back in the promo stills.
Here are perhaps some of the funniest memes made on the blunder.
#JamieLannister just left Brienne in tears for King’s Landing, in order to reunite with his twin sister/lover/baby mama/potential murderer. #AryaStark is on her way to King’s Landing to kill Cersei. She could use a new face in order to get close. And a golden hand?— 8645 ASAP (@ln2869) May 6, 2019
