TV shows of the 80s and 90s hold a very special place in our hearts. From Fresh Prince of Bel-Air to Full House, there have been a number of TV shows, especially sitcoms, that have, to date, taken over our lives. Likewise, one of the most popular shows of all time, Friends, also had very relatable characters with great punch lines and plots. Whether it's the obsessive Monica, bratty Rachel, slightly clueless Phoebe, always hungry Joey or Chandler or Ross, there was always at least one character and its situation that all of us could connect with. And what would we do just to get a chance to spend a day in Central Perk just like the six friends did.
Well, it seems like our prayers are about to be answered as the famous sofa - or couch as they say in America - is coming to Dubai very, very soon. As part of a world tour, a replica of the sofa that was present in Central Perk would be travelling around the world and also make its stop at the iconic location of Burj Khalifa in Dubai. The couch will arrive in the city on September 16 and stay at the location for fans of the show till October 16 before it moves on to the next location.
The tour is taking place to celebrate the silver jubilee of Friends. The show first aired 25 years ago on September 22, 1994. It went on for 10 seasons before the creators wrapped it up with a finale on May 6, 2004. Many millennials spend day and night watching re runs of the show. There have been countless rumours of the cast returning to reprise their role in yet another season of Friends, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet. But fans of the show would like nothing better than seeing Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer on screen together again. It's a reunion all of us are eagerly waiting for.
