‘Finish It Off Now’. Court tells Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia to End Their Feud
The former lovers and co-owners of an IPL cricket team had been involved in a messy battle for the last four years
It has been four years since Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia got entangled into a bitter legal battle. The court has now requested the couple to reach an amicable resolution. Ness Wadia's lawyer has explained that the proceedings are held up because Preity Zinta wants an apology from Ness Wadia and Ness Wadia doesn't want to apologise.
Both Preity and Ness want the case to be closed but the former is adamant to get an apology from the latter. On October 01, 2018, the Bombay High Court asked the two to end the case once and for all but according to reports, Ness has refused to apologise. Ness’ lawyer, Abad Ponda was quoted as saying, “We want to bury the hatchet, but my client is not ready to apologise. The complainant (Preity) wants to extract an apology and get media attention”. In response to this, one of the judges said, "Just finish it off now".
The 42-year-old actress had lodged an FIR on June 13, 2014, under IPC sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 504 (intentional insult), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (using word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman). The complaint followed an incident at the Wankhede stadium where the two had a fight in public. She then alleged that Ness had molested, abused and threatened her inside the stadium during an IPL match against the Chennai Super Kings. Ness denied the allegations. Ever since the case has been entangled in legal formalities.
After the whole fiasco, Preity finally found her Mr Right in Gene Goodenough. She left her full-time acting career in Bollywood to be with her husband in LA.
