Fatima Sana Shaikh may have started her career alongside one of the most coveted stars of Bollywood, Aamir Khan, but now she is eyeing her upcoming roles in the next two films as new challenges. The Dangal star will appear next in Anurag Basu’s project which hasn’t been given a name yet, while she will also be appearing with Ali Fazal and Saif Ali Khan in ‘Bhoot Police’, which is a horror-comedy all set to hit screens in 2020. When asked about her appreciation for the horror-comedy genre, Fatima said she always needs company to watch such movies, but she likes them overall.

"I love them. But I can't watch it alone. I need a constant company to live through the storyline that involves me all the thrill and fear that the movie entails,” she said. The Thugs of Hindostan star also named her favourite movies from the horror-comedy genre and one of them is a recent Bollywood movie called Stree. “Shaun of the Dead and Stree are my favourite horror comedies of all times. I can watch them anytime and any day.” While she was part of two grand projects at the start of her senior acting career, Fatima believes every project, small or big, brings its own challenges with it.

The 27-year-old is not a new face on the screen as she did child-star roles in Kamal Haasan’s Chachi 420 and Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla-starrer One 2 ka 4. “Every role comes with its difficulty and strengths and equal amount of time and dedication goes into each and every role,” said Fatima. She further explained that every actor needs to understand their character first in order to perform it better on screen in a movie. “From comedy to the intense characters with depth, there is an understanding that every actor must exercise to ease out the process for themselves,” she explained.
