Top 4 jewellery trends you will notice in 2023

Here are some jewellery trends to look forward to this year.

Jewellery Trends 2023

Esteemed jewellery designer Pavit Gujral sits with our editor, Vama Kothari, to discuss what the biggest jewellery trends for 2023 will be. Pavit Gujral is an award-winning Jewellery Designer and Gemologist, with an ambition to be the ‘Pop-Star’ of the Fine Jewellery Industry.

“Past fashion trends have a way of coming back every few years. The nostalgic trends from the 80’s are making their way back for good… I strongly feel that going into 2023, we will be welcoming big, bold, and colourful pieces, which were the essence of trends back then — only this time they are going to be even bolder and more colourful with unique design spins. The return of these trends revolves around the motive of leaving a mark and making heads turn. We will get to witness many magnificent mixes with a modern twist.”

1) Shoulder Dusters

One of the interesting pieces that would stand out are the Shoulder Dusters — these are long, lean earrings that go past the shoulders, which look striking and dramatic. These pieces alone are enough to don a fabulous outfit on the red carpet. Shoulder dusters studded with colourful gemstones paired with a cocktail dress are an extraordinary rendition of the ideal red-carpet look.

2) Animalia

Out of the trends galore, another adored category is big sculptural earrings which are completely worth the attention. These are set to bring unmatched sophistication and versatility to any look. Talking about setting trends also brings up the thought of Animalia in jewellery, as they give you an upgrade with their playful spin.

3) Hair Embellishments

Lastly, one of my favourites coming back into fashion are hair accessories and brooches. An important factor in setting an example is being well-accessorized. Beautiful brooches, hairpieces, and shoulder accessories bring a sense of completion to a look, and they are all set to display flair in 2023. Many fashionistas use these pieces to complement their look. Nowadays, men’s jewellery is also not far behind, with many piquant pieces like brooches, rings, pendants, and even ear cuffs, which are worn by many famous male trendsetters looking for the right hint of masculine and modern for an ideal look.

4) Cuff Bracelets

Cuffs continue to be a dominating accessories trend on the runways. Try pairing large and thin cuffs for a chic stacked look. It will not be wrong to proclaim that it is going to be a very interesting year for jewelry. We can expect to see the renewal of old trends blended with a fusion of art, design, and boldness. Whether we talk about day-to-day elegance or red-carpet glam, 2023 is going to be the year we expect to see dramatic changes in the world of jewellery. We will also get to acknowledge many exquisite jewellery trends and distinctive ideas around these having a comeback, adorned by boldness and more vibrancy.
