Fashion Round-Up: Four Favourite Looks from the Week Gone By
As another week of January came to an end, it ended on a high note; sartorially speaking. We rounded up four of our favourite looks from the week gone by
The New Year is in full swing and if our predictions are anything to go by, then 2020 is going to be one hell of a fashionable year. 2019 too was huge for fashion and some of the biggest and most statement making looks came out of 2019. The fashion industry saw a huge shift and a number of trends that were seen in the year gone by are going to be taking centre stage in 2020. From bold neon to power suits, to mini bags and cutout jumpsuits to colour blocking and chunky sneakers, the fashion scene was host to some fabulous trends.
The spring/ summer 2020 ramps saw a number of trends that will make their way to the high street this year and we can’t wait to see what the fashion scene has in store for us this year. And so, with that being said, we round up some of the best looks that we saw in the week gone by.
1. Victoria Beckham
If there is one fashionista we could take style notes from, for the rest of our lives, it would be none other than Victoria Beckham. The fashion icon and entrepreneur headed to Paris last week to attend the high profile, Paris Couture Week and left heads turning as she stepped out in style. The former Spice girl put together a fabulous look as always and we want to steal the look stat! She was clad in a neon yellow turtle neck top which she paired with a pair of bright green flared pants. She wrapped up in a chic checkered print wool coat which tied at the waist while showing off her ensemble at the same time. Victoria Beckham teamed the look with her Birkin and dark sunnies, and was the centre of all attention as the paparazzi clicked away!
2. Deepika Padukone
There’s no denying that Deepika Padukone aces every look she is styled in. From her chic airport looks, to her glamourous red carpet looks, she always leaves heads turning in every look. Last week, Deepika Padukone was clad in a casual and effortless look for Chhapaak promotions. She wore a pair of rather baggy jeans which tied at the waist with a denim band and coupled it with a pair of metallic kicks. The jeans were paired with a white blouse which featured billowing sleeves and was offset with gold accessories and gold hoops. The actress had her tied back in a scruffy ponytail and opted for brown smokey eyes and a nude pout. Over all we love the look!
3. Priyanka Chopra
Priyanka Chopra was recently spotted at Mumbai airport as she headed back to India for work and of course, shutterbugs couldn’t keep their eyes off her. The starlet was spotted in a sky blue pant suit which featured an oversized blazer which she wore over a pristine white tee. The blazer was coupled with a pair of matching, high-waisted pants and she had the blazer buttoned to give it some structure. The Bajirao Mastani actress rounded off her look with a pair of cream, square-toed boots and dark sunnies. With sleek hair parted in the middle and flicked out on either side and minimal makeup, the starlet was making a major fashion statement and serving some airport style goals.
4. Kate Middleton
Last week, after all the royal family fiasco, Kate Middleton arrived in Bradford with Prince William by her side and she sported a khaki green, military style coat dress by Alexander McQueen to beat the chill in the air. The coat dress featured two pockets and flattered her figure with a waistband cinched at the waist. She teamed the coat with a contrasting black croc skin miniature bag and a pair of black heels. She rounded off her look with a fresh blowout and some drop earrings to offset her minimal makeup. She later removed her coat to reveal a pretty black and white Zara dress which tied at the neck with a bow. The duchess cleverly matched the coat with a black and white dress and made clever use of her accessories which doubled up with the dress as well as with the coat. Tres chic!
These looks have paved way for some fashionable looks in the weeks to come. As the year goes on, a number of fashionable events and fashion weeks are coming up and we can’t wait to see what the year ahead holds for us, sartorially speaking.
