Trends: Nida Azwer took our breath away with her canvas of ethereal white. Her Arabesque collection highlighted the best that Pakistani craftsmanship has to offer and included hand embroidery, appliqué cutwork, pleating and digital printing.
Leading with white as the dominant color but playing purely with hues of gold and silver as accents, the collection included saris, harem pants, angharkas and peshwas. The fabrics of choice included silk, net, chiffon and organza.
Renowned for her infusion of traditional crafts such as zardozi and minature embroidery into classic design, Nida Azwer's latest collection made us wonder if white is the new black this season. Definitely one of the triumphs of Day 1 of Fashion Pakistan 2014.
Front Row: Fashion guru, front row regular and CEO of Labels, (Pakistan's premiere fashion hub), Zahir Rahimtoola was also there to cheer on Niza Azwer, "She is one of Pakistan's first - and foremost- designers and with every successful show she raises the bar. Kudos to Nida for raising the bar and remaining true to her roots."
