Fashion Fiesta: SoPritti

This is a show which has some rather jaw-dropping names from the world of Indian fashion and high society – Tarun Tahiliani, Anju Modi, Rimple and Harpreet Narula, Rohit Verma, Ayesha Hashwani, Queenie, Rhea Pillai among others. SoPritti – the Fashion, Glamour and Lifestyle Autumn exhibition, an initiative by Pritti Nanda, in its 12 edition, has gone bigger and better. Focusing on quality over quantity, the designers are bringing their best and most exclusive collections to the city. With the festive season coming up, here's a chance to lay your hands on those dream designs. A brief profile of some of the names we are excited about...

Style icon Queenie Singh’s approach to glamour is reflected in hereponymous line, 'Jewels By Queenie'. Characterised by intricate craft, spectacular design and a unique style, the collection is an amalgamation of fine jewelry and high fashion. What you can expect? A breath-taking line of handmade fine jewellery where all the pieces are embellished with both, semi-precious and precious stones. In her words, “Every piece I make is a style statement.” Who can refute that?

Each visit of Tarun Tahiliani is a reason to celebrate. So when the maestro is bringing his latest runway and ready to wear collection, is there any reason to not keep your shopping bags ready? After last year’s success, the maestro is back with the exhibition as its headliner.

If you envied the outfits of the stars of Bajirao Mastani, here’s your chance to meet the person behind those designs. Anju Modi’s creations are synonymous with grace, elegance and luxury couture. Known for her exploration and contemporisation of traditional crafts, an Anju Modi ensemble is like a gift to treasure forever.

Their aesthetic takes inspiration from our textile heritage. They take pride in being revivalists even as their creations give a contemporary twist to suit the modern woman. The label has carved a niche for itself and is returning to Dubai for the fifth time with this show.

The elegant former model and Art of Living teacher Rhea Pillai has brought an element of spirituality to her designs. Her modelling background combined with her interest in fashion has resulted in a very beautiful collection at The Temple House. The ethos of her brand are reflected in the temple saris with real zari, stunning Lucknowi work on pure georgette, Banarasi saris and French chiffons. With The Temple House, Rhea shares her expression of beauty with the element reverence and prayer.

For the first time, elite menswear designer, Sarab Khanijou will be seen in Dubai with his latest collection. To complement the exquisite traditional and modern outfits, the exhibition will offer prestige accessories and jewellery brands.
