It is not only fans of Bollywood, Hollywood or any other film industry who have their favourites and role models to look up to. Even renowned artists are inspired by each other and often express their desire to work with one another. Ace choreographer Farah Khan has similarly found her favourite in Hollywood and it is none other than heartthrob Tom Cruise. She recently revealed that making him dance has been her dream since she joined Bollywood.
“I definitely want to make Tom Cruise dance. That’s been a dream,” said Farah, while speaking about her journey as a choreographer and then as a filmmaker.
Farah was speaking at the ongoing International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. While roping in Tom to groove for her in a Bollywood number might be on her wish list, she did manage to put together a star-studded cast for her song Deewangi Deewangi. Talking about how there were some who couldn’t make it, Farah added, “I wanted Aamir Khan in it. I wanted one shot to have the three Khans together. Aamir drove me crazy for ten days. He couldn’t make it because he was editing Taare Zameen Par.”
Four years later, Aamir told her that he didn’t want to do the song. She also wanted Dilip Kumar in the video of the song and that Shah Rukh Khan was supposed to help her in bringing the veteran actor shoot for the song. But it didn’t work out either. She also spoke about the music blockbuster Chaiyya Chaiyya. “We couldn’t get the permission to shoot at the station, so we managed to shoot it on top of a train. We did it in four days and no one fell,” she laughed. “We had approached Shilpa Shetty to Raveena Tandon, a lot of actors but no one did it. Malaika Arora did the song and became a star after that.”
