Malaika Arora on Her Love Life: "Everybody Deserves a Second Chance in Love"

Malaika Arora, who has been making headlines for being in a relationship with the much younger Arjun Kapoor, has said that for a woman to take a second chance at love is considered taboo in India.

Bollywood diva Malaika Arora who recently publicized her hidden relationship with fellow actor Arjun Kapoor said that taking a second chance in love is considered a taboo in India. “Everybody deserves a second chance in love and the people should deal with that fact with an open mind,” she said during an interview with a foreign media outlet. “It is a taboo is because there are a lot of situations and issues that need to be tackled in our country, though I think the issue needs to be looked at with an open mind.”

Malaika added that, “A little more sensitivity (is needed), as opposed to being harsh and callous and negative towards things. I think it is important to be inclusive. When I talk of second chances, I'm thinking of making the most of second chances. I think everybody should be given a second chance.” The fitness enthusiast and famous TV personality had kept people including her fans and followers in the dark about her relationship with Arjun before gradually opening up about it by sharing special moments from holidays on social media apart from leaving gushy comments on each other’s Instagram posts.

Upon being asked if it bothers her that her personal life is always under the scanner Malaika, 45, said, “It is part of being in the public eye, of being in this business. I think the sooner you make peace with it, the better things works out for you. Also, I feel we are all quite comfortable with it right now.” She was previously married to Salman Khan’s brother Arbaaz Khan with whom she has a 16 year old son Arhaan. Malaika started her career as a video jockey and hosted shows before turning into a dancing sensation with hit numbers like Chaiyya Chaiyya, Gur Naal Ishq Mitha, Maahi Ve, Kaal Dhamaal and Munni Badnaam Hui.
