Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena reveals hair transplant decision sparked by fans mocking bald spot

Pro-wrestling icon and Hollywood actor John Cena opens up about getting seriously trolled over his bald spot by fans, leading him to get a hair transplant surgery.

John Cena made waves the world over after having defeated Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41 to win the Undisputed WWE Championship. The 17-time World Champion, who is gearing up to defend his title against ‘Viper’ Randy Orton at Backlash, recently opened up about getting a hair transplant surgery done after fans trolled him heavily over his visible bald spot. The wrestling icon candidly opened up about his struggle with hair loss, reflecting on how even the very rich and famous can find it tough to tackle hair loss battle from time to time. 

Cena, 47, confessed how fans were harsh to him when they witnessed a bald spot on his head for the first time.

Undisputed WWE Champion and Vacation Friends star John Cena shared how he was trolled by the WWE Universe after they captured the superstar with a bald spot. Sharing the challenging experience on a recent talk show appearance, the champion divulged, ‘You chant and make me feel small and embarrassed.’ He even underscored that he classified it as bullying and that he was unkind to fans and naysayers to troll him for something he couldn’t control. 

Cena mentioned that he was pushed to get a hair transplant surgery done amid the constant fan scrutiny and relentless trolling. Recalling his November 2024 surgery, the wrestler-actor expressed, ‘Thank you for bullying me into getting surgical hair replacement. That’s how far y’all pushed me.’

Cena’s hopeful outlook and future projects

The world wrestling legend elucidated the hair transplant process and tried to simplify it for his audience. He shared, ‘It’s like taking grass from one area and putting it in a dry spot.’ He even spotlighted that new hair grows and old hair falls out following the transplant surgery, making it all a part of the recovery process.

John Cena excited his fans when he said that he was even hoping to have long and wavy hair soon, calling it a ‘work in progress.’ That being said, the wrestling icon is set to bolster his acting career as he headlines the action entertainer Heads of State, in which he shares the screen with the suave Idris Elba. Meanwhile, in his pro-wrestling space, ‘The Leader of Cenation’ will soon be seen defending his Undisputed WWE Championship against his longtime rival and the former ‘Legend Killer’ Randy Orton.
