Emraan Hashmi Begins Shooting for Ezra Remake in Mauritius

Actor Emraan Khan has started shooting for Ezra in Mauritius. The film is the remake of 2017 Malayalam film with the same name.

Bollywood star Emraan Hashmi is set to appear in the remake of horror film Ezra. Earlier, this week the filmmakers announced that Hashmi had already started shooting for the film in Mauritius which is a remake of a Malayalam movie starring Prithviraj Sukumaran. T Series made the announcement on their official Twitter page. “Our next project, #Ezra starring @emraanhashmi begins in Mauritius. Day one Mahurat shot of #Ezra. Directed by #JayKrishnan,” read the tweet.

The remake will be directed by Jay Krishnan who had helmed the original back in 2017 also. The film is a Panorama Studios Production which is co-produced by Aditya Chowksey and Sanjeev Joshi. It is backed by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Kishan Kumar and Abhishek Pathak. The previous projects by director Jay Krishnan include short films such as Protecting Winter in 2018, I Can’t Breathe in 2017 and Dammunte Kasko in 2015.

On the work front, Emraan Hashmi was last seen in Why Cheat India, directed by Soumik Sen. Emraan Hashmi started his career as an assistant director for the 2002 horror film Raaz before pursuing a career in acting. By 2004, Hashmi had established himself as one of the leading actors of Hindi cinema with successful roles in Murder (2004), Zeher (2005), Aashiq Banaya Aapne (2005) and Gangster (2006) and Awarapan (2007). Earlier this year in January, he disclosed that his son had finally won the battle against cancer after fighting it for five years. “Today, 5 years after his diagnosis Ayaan has been declared cancer free. It has been quite a journey. Thank you for all your prayers and wishes. Love and prayers for all the cancer fighters out there, hope and belief goes a long way. You can WIN this battle!!!,” he had stated in a tweet along with pictures of his son.
