Ed Sheeran Never Felt Insecure about His Weight Till Others Pointed it Out
Ed Sheeran, in a recent interview, shared his 50-pound weight-loss journey, adding that he feels much better now
Ed Sheeran’s voice and melodies are a treat for ears and soul and his ability to weave magic with his songs is outstanding to say the least. The English singer, songwriter and rose to fame after his debut album released in 2011. The Shape of You singer is married to former high school classmate Cherry Seaborn, and in a recent interview the Pop singer opened up about his own shape, where he gained a lot of weight, but has now worked on himself to lose as much as 50 pounds courtesy running and exercise.
Sheeran, in the newly released episode of the Behind the Medal podcast, revealed how he quit smoking and made lifestyle changes that led to him losing weight and feeling fitter. As the star summarised talking about his fitness, he started music, then started smoking and then “it all kind of went out the window”. Then, he says he stopped smoking nearly three years ago and started exercising. Noting he now “loves it”. He shared that his regimen consists of a 45-minute run in the morning followed by a swim or sit-ups, as compared with the 10-minute runs he used to do. He also recalled being in the upwards of 224 pounds at the time of the X Tour and the beginning of the Divide Tour as compared to now being 168 pounds.
Sheeran also talked about how excessive partying and sleeping late till the afternoon didn’t allow him to see and explore the places he travelled to. While in America, he described being in the back of the tour bus with a tray of chicken wings and bottles of alcohol after a gig. "It's always America that gets me —America in buses," he quipped. On the topic of his self-image, Sheeran said, “I never once had any insecurities really about myself until people pointed them out.”
