With Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS), Dubai’s annual citywide summer celebration, just around the corner, the organisers, Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) has revealed details of the exciting line-up of activities taking place on the opening day on 22 June!
DSS will get off to a flying start when six malls, including Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Mirdif, City Centre Deira, City Centre Me‘aisem, City Center Al Barsha and City Center Al Shindagha hold a mega 12-hour sale on the opening day, giving shoppers the opportunity to get 25% to 90% off on an extensive range of items, as well the chance to enjoy exclusive rewards, promotions and live entertainment. Adtionally, those looking to shop until they drop can enjoy extended opening hours at Mall of the Emirates only, which will be open from 10am until 2am on 22 June to celebrate the start of DSS
Apart from extended opening hours, other highlights of the first weekend of DSS at Mall of the Emirates include daily deals and special appearances by Modhesh. Every other weekend, DSS will focus on additional offers and experiences at other shopping destinations across the city
Visitors to the 19th edition of Modhesh World can take part in the ‘Spin the Wheel’ promotion, for a chance to win a Jumbo Electronics voucher worth AED 5,000. Visitors simply need to spend AED 500 at Modhesh World to receive a raffle ticket, giving them a chance to spin the wheel and grab their prize
Parents looking to keep the kids entertained can head to Ibn Battuta Mall to enjoy spectacular shows, including ‘Bunny You Blew up the Carrots’, a hilarious live show featuring Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck trying to get their hands on Bugs’ carrots, plus ‘The Desert Adventure of Daffy Duck’, which sees Daffy attempting to cross the desert. Similarly, Dragon Mart 2 will be playing host to the ‘My Little Pony Live’ and ‘Stilt Puppeteer’ shows, Dubai Festival City Mall will host the ‘No Head Man’ show whereas visitors to City Walk and The Outlet Village can enjoy “Le Ballerine Still Teatro” and those heading to Al Seef and Boxpark can watch the “Balloon Twister” show
DSS visitors looking to enjoy a comedy night can head to The Laughter Factory to catch the first shows of the season at Senara, The Palm or Movenpick JBR, at the Middle East’s longest running comedy night, which will run until September
Tourists and residents can head to La Perle to watch a spectacular show, after availing themselves of a huge 50% off tickets. Gaming fans can head to the specially-created ‘Gaming Zone’ at Dubai Mall and get the chance to play on a brand new PlayStation and win top prizes
