Dubai Influencers Ajmal and Jumana Khan Went on A Spacation. This is Their Diary
Masala! organised a fun spa and brunch weekend at Lapita Hotel for two influencers Ajmal and Jumana Khan. Their fun day out will give you ideas on how to spend your next Friday!
As influencers Jumana Khan (541k followers) and her husband Ajmal Khan (943k followers) often give a glimpse of life in Dubai to their millions of followers. Over the years, they have collaborated with Dubai Tourism, the Emaar Group and Bollywood Parks, La Mer, car, apparel and watch brands etc hence, not surprisingly, they have seen the best that the city has to offer – all of which are duly noted on social media.
While weekdays are spent in shoots, meetings and work, weekends, like Dubaiite, are meant for R n R. “We go for a lot of lunch and dinner dates. Usually, we try and spend time with our family on Fridays and with friends on Saturdays. Otherwise, we go for long drives or relax by the beach,” says Jumana.
TRIP TO LAPITA
This time we decided to give this lovely couple a unique gift – a spacation at the stunning Lapita Hotel, Dubai Parks and Resorts, Autograph Collection. A gateway to the Dubai Parks and Resorts, the Polynesian themed resort is ideal for a staycation with everything on offer for the discerning holidayer – a gorgeous spa, themed restaurants, an ultra-relaxing vibe and avenues for unlimited fun. The deal was simple – arrive at the hotel, enjoy the spa treatment, relax by the pool and relish the ‘Daycation’ brunch. Cool, eh?
ARRIVAL & OUT AND ABOUT
Both Ajmal and Jumana arrived in style at Lapita on Friday morning. The drive was a long one (“we were also very tired since we had had a long and hectic week with a number of shoots and endless meetings,” they say) but one step into the flower-laden pathways and their fatigue was gone. “We then began to look forward to it!” laughs Ajmal, taken in by the warm welcome at the hotel. They spent some time discovering the property and soaking in the ambience.
OLA SPA: PARADISE FOUND
Two different messages had been chosen for them. The Lomi Lomi Autograph massage (also called the Hawaiian Massage, 60 minutes: AED 350 & 90 minutes: AED 515) was a treatment used by Hawaiian healers as a holistic tool for wellness. It works gently on the muscles with continuous flowing movements that calm the senses, with the therapist using his or her arm from the wrist to the elbow. The second one was the Taurimi Massage, a relaxing and very traditional Polynesian massage that strengthens the connection between the body and spirit. (AED 350 & 90 minutes: AED 515).
“It was fantastic!” exults Jumana. “I almost went to sleep, I never felt so relaxed. The gentle music, the way our muscles were treated, the ambience …it was perfect!” This was followed by a long session that Ajmal enjoyed at the Jacuzzi. Pampered and how!
The spacation experience is incomplete without the brunch. And that’s where they headed to post their spa session. “We have been to several brunches but this was different. First of all, the Christmas vibe was fabulous. And the food was mind-blowing,” says Jumana.
Jumana is a health freak who watches everything she eats while Ajmal is the opposite – a junk food freak! Fortunately, the brunch had enough options for both of them. The opulent international buffet showcased dishes of the South Pacific along with the usual grills, bbq, seafood, meat, Indian specialities and the like. Fresh drinks, a delicious spread, an array of desserts...... it’s indulgence redefined. “I stuck to my salads though,” laughs Jumana while Ajmal savoured every bit of the succulent meats.
What amused the couple the most though was the unique dish where poultry and accompaniments were cooked underground – in the healthiest, most natural way. “It was amazing to see raw meat cooked this way, it tasted delicious. Definitely one of the standout delicacies,” says Ajmal.
DAY WELL SPENT
After a hectic week, we all deserve a bit of ‘me or us’ time and a spa-and-brunch afternoon in the city, is one way of rejuvenation and reenergising for the week ahead. Just ask the two thrilled influencers who had the time of their lives at Lapita. Got ‘influenced’ enough to enjoy a spacation this winter?
