Restaurant Review: Mekong, Anantara Dubai The Palm Resort & Spa

Traditional Thai rickshaws and tuk tuks are just a couple of charming ways to embark on a culinary journey for the senses, as the newest Asian restaurant in Dubai is now open on The Palm Jumeirah.

Mekong, the signature restaurant at Anantara Dubai The Palm Resort & Spa, is a unique dining establishment offering an exciting fusion of Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine. Guests will instantly be transported to Asia as they hitch a ride in a tuk tuk, before taking a seat in a distinctive, traditional rickshaw on the terrace.

Nothing makes a statement like a giant ferocious tiger greeting you on arrival, an image that is regularly depicted in Chinese illustrations. From indoor waterways, brass elephant handle detailing and intricate patterns and fabrics adorning the walls, to the hand-carved Thai wooden table tops, bird cages and market-town shutters suspended from the ceiling, the drama and theatre of Asia is presented in abundance.

Dishes on the menu include everything from green curry favourite Gaeng-Kiew Waan Gai, to the beef Rib Eye Phad Gapraw Ma Kuea Yao and the coconut roasted halibut, Choo Chee Pla Tadiew. Khao-Niew Ma Muang, pandan sticky rice with sweet mango and coconut cream, is the perfect sweet end to a delicious journey.

This is one place you must go to!
