Dilip Joshi on returning to set for Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah
After a four month break the SAB TV sitcom resumed shooting last week
Due to the coronavirus pandemic filming for SAB TV’s sitcom, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah was put on a four month hiatus. Last week the cast were back on set filming with new precautionary measures in place.
Actor Dilip Joshi, who plats Jethalal commented on the ‘new normal’, “Fear is always there at the back of our mind as we are surrounded by people wearing masks and gloves and sanister stands. The whole environment on the set has changed and by the end of the day you are mentally drained. But still, it’s good to be back at work,” he told the Mumbai Mirror.
It’s reported the cast and crew have been on set for ten hours a day in order get new episodes ready for air next week. Dilip admitted it’s hard to keep laughing through the current situation. “It’s tough, but we are trying our best. You have to forget everything in front of the camera and let yourself be transported to a different world. We keep improvising on the set,” he shares.
Mentioning the news of Amitabh’s positive diagnosis the 55 year-old actor said, “If Bachchan sir can test positive even after taking so much care, it can happen to anyone. And actors in particular stand the maximum risk of being exposed to the virus while shooting as they can’t wear masks in front of the camera. So, we are exposed to the droplets but you must have faith in God.”
New episodes of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah are set to go live next week.
