The Sanju fever has gripped the country and the Ranbir Kapoor starrer has crossed the 300 crore mark at the box office. However, we are still discovering some facts about the Raj Kumar Hirani directorial venture. One such trivia is that there was a fun song that didn’t make it to the final cut of the film. And guess what? Hirani has decided to release it tomorrow at 11 am IST (9.30 am Dubai time).
The song titled Bhopu Baj Raha Hai has been picturised on Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal and Karishma Tanna and is supposed to a peppy number. In the film, Vicky plays Ranbir Kapoor’s best friend and Karishma, in a small part, plays his girlfriend. However, Ranbir doesn’t think twice about cheating on Vicky with his girlfriend when the opportunity presents itself.
One doesn’t know the reason why the song didn’t make it to the final reel and why it hadn’t even been promoted so far. Presumably, it was to cut down the length of the film. Raj Kumar Hirani himself tweeted that the song will be out tomorrow and shared a poster that had Ranbir, Karishma and Vicky, dressed in Indian finery, in a fun mood.
Interestingly, a Twitter user has shared a small portion of the song though one can’t verify if it’s the original number.
It is common for filmmakers to edit out songs, long scenes and at times, entire portions featuring actors from the final cut of a movie, especially if hampers the length or the narrative. A couple of years ago, Govinda had cried foul when his entire portion was cut from Ranbir’s Jagga Jasoos in which he had played a small role.
