Sanjay Leela Bhasali has left no stone unturned to bring to life the larger-than-life, grand and stunning sets of his period film Bajirao Mastani. While few are aware of how much work goes into producing magnanimous sets like that, the film's actress Deepika Padukone is in awe of the creativity that is behind the set's design. According to a leading entertainment portal, the actress revealed that the sets of Bajirao Mastani’s song, Deewani Mastani, which was created with Lahore’s Sheesh Mahal as an inspiration, has become the eye candy in Film City! The sets of this song has been visited the most in Filmcity Mumbai.
The Tamasha actress said in an article in bollywoodlife.com, “So much hard work went into creating it, and when we completed the shooting of our song ‘Deewani mastani,’ we did not want to dismantle the set. It looked like a museum and we actually thought of letting it be like that for visitors at Filmcity to come and see what goes into the making of these grand sets that we see on screen. We were planning to let that set remain so that people get to know about the effort that goes into creating these kind of masterpieces.”
Before Bajirao Mastani, films like Baahubali and Jodha Akbar have also invested heavily in intricately detailed sets depicting the age and period the story was set in.
