Vikrant Massey -- who made his Bollywood debut with Vikramaditya Motwane's Lootera in 2013 -- was all praises for his co-star Deepika Padukone. The two are sharing screen space for the first time in Meghna Gulzar’s directorial Chhapaak, which is set to release in about two months. The actor, while interacting with the media recently, said, "It was great working with her. I have always said this that she is one of the finest co-actors I have worked with in my career."
Speaking about the overall experience of working in this film, he said, "I really had a nice experience working on the film. We have completed the shooting and it is to release in two months' time, so I am keeping my fingers crossed."
In Chhapaak, Deepika plays the role of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal while Vikrant portrays her boyfriend. The 32-year old actor made his debut in acting with televsion series Kahaan Hoon Main in 2004. He gained prominence with the TV show Balika Vadhu and also appeared in shows like Dharam Veer, Baba Aiso Varr Dhoondo and Qubool Hai. The actor gained popularity following his roles in films like Dil Dhadakne Do, Half Girlfriend and Lipstick Under My Burkha, and web series Mirzapur.

In a recent interview with Gulf News, Vikrant said he was looking for ‘good cinema’. He said, “Good cinema is a reflection of society. It is something that resonates with people, something that people take home. It has a certain archival value.” Regarding his upcoming film Chhapaak, he shared during the same interview, “I am proud to be associated with a film on this subject, and each and every person associated with the film. It was a gruesome crime and with this film the world will resonate with the message we want to give out.” The film has been co-produced by Meghna Gulzar and Deepika Padukone, in collaboration with Fox Star Studios. It is scheduled for release on 10th January 2020.
