Deepika Padukone is one of Bollywood’s most sought after actresses, and with so many projects at hand, the actress has a busy schedule to keep up with. The actress has most certainly made her mark in the industry and has garnered a huge following ever since her Bollywood debut alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Om Shanti Om. She is recognized for her stellar performances in a myriad of films, her bold sartorial choices and her sense of style. The starlet has been making waves in the industry and never fails to leave heads turning each time she steps out. And now, Deepika Padukone fans have something to be excited about.
The Padmaavat actress recently revealed that she has signed a dark romantic thriller! That’s right. It was later revealed that the movie she mentioned, will be directed by Shakun Batra under the able guidance of Karan Johar. The film is all set to be produced by Dharma Productions and is likely to go on floors sometime in February 2020. But that’s not all! At the recent trailer launch of Good Newwz, KJo announced that his production house makes sure both men and women working for them are paid well and he also revealed that in the next few months, he will soon make announcements where a female star headlining his production ventures, will also get a co-producer credit to it.

A source revealed to Pinkvilla that, “Dippy's film with Shakun has her playing the central character. She shoulders the film that is a dark romantic drama, where Siddhant Chaturvedi has been paired opposite her. Karan and Deepika discussed the project and the actress really loved the idea. In fact, she also spoke to Karan and they both agreed to have her on board as a co-producer." How exciting!

This will mark not the first, but the second film that will be rolled out under the superstar actress' banner. Kabir Khan's '83 that stars her and husband Ranveer Singh together for the first time after their marriage, will be her debut production venture.
