David Dhawan set to remake 'Chhoti Si Baat'
The stars Ali Zafar and Anil Kapoor are being considered for the movie
It looks like producer and director David Dhawan has been bitten by the nostalgic bug; he is possibly going to remake the 1975 romantic comedy film directed by Basu Chaterjee, 'Chhoti Si Baat'.
According to a source, David has been seriously considering reworking the plot of the classic 'Chhoti Si Baat' to fit the mould of his characteristic romcoms. After having shared a great rapport with the Pakistani-singer-turned-actor Ali Zafar on the sets of his upcoming movie, a remake of the 1981 classic 'Chashme Buddoor', Dhawan wants to cast Ali in the role of a shy and simple young man essayed by Amol Palekar in the original flick.
'Slumdog Millionaire' actor Anil Kapoor is also being considered by the filmmaker for Ashok Kumar's role, that of Colonel Julius Nagendranath Wilfred Singh -- a man whose advice helped Amol become confident enough to woo his lady love.
We are looking forward to David's remake. After all, 'Chhoti Si Baat' has been one of the most loved movies of its time. We just hope it lives up to the original!
