Courteney Cox is Excited About Friends Reunion Special
The cast of Friends will be coming together on-screen after almost a decade for a reunion special to be aired on HBO Max
Fans have been eagerly waiting for the Friends cast to come together for a reunion and its looks like their wish will be granted soon. After almost a decade, it was finally confirmed last week that the show was coming back for an unscripted episode on the HBO Max streaming service. While show-lovers will still have to wait a little while, Courteney Cox, who played Monica Geller on the hit sitcom revealed that the upcoming special will be “fantastic and great”.
In an interview with Kevin Nealon on his web series, Hiking with Kevin, the star shared, “So the exciting thing is that we’re all going to get together for the first time, in a room, and actually talk about the show, and it’s going to be on HBO Max, and I’m so excited. We’re going to have the best time. It’s going to be great. But we really haven’t all done that and actually sat there and talked about and reminisced about this incredible experience that we had. It’s going to be fantastic.” Courteney also added that her “ideal” reunion took place last year when the entire cast met for dinner. She said, “I don’t know how many years it was, maybe 15 years – and we finally all got together and had dinner. And when we get together, which is never – it only happened… it just doesn’t happen very often, like twice since we ended the show – it’s just the most fun. We laugh so hard.”
In the upcoming reunion special, Courteney will be joined by her co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer. It will take place on Friends’ original stage at the Warner Bros studio in California. For viewers, the show will be available on HBO Max in May this year, when the streaming service launches, however, reports of it making its way to the UK have not been confirmed as of now. Regardless, it is going to be a treat watching all the six friends, on-screen, together again.
