The latest victim to fall under the trap of piracy is the web series “Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala.” The ALT Balaji and Zee5 original premiered on the 3rd of September on both platforms but has now made an appearance on the infamous piracy website, Tamilrockers. The site is practically renowned for consistently pirating media properties, often merely a few hours after they release to the public. However, it’s mostly known for leaking films rather than television shows and web series, making “Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala”’s leak rather out-of-the-box for Tamilrockers.
Tamilrockers got its head start by leaking Tamil language and other Tollywood films to its platform, hence its name. But due to a rapidly increasing number of users loyally visiting the website for leaks and a resulting higher demand rate, it started expanding its range to leaking Bollywood and Hollywood films. There have even been instances of Korean and Japanese films getting pirated to the site due to their popularity. Some of the most highly anticipated films of the year have ended up on Tamilrockers soon after they hit cinemas, with a few of those big names being titles like “Avengers: Endgame”, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”, “Kabir Singh”, and many more. Users are able to stream and download files on Tamilrockers for free by using magnet and torrent links. Tamilrockers has so far managed to evade any serious legal ramifications by constantly changing their domain name to avoid detection.
“Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala” stars Divyanka Tripathi and Rajeev Khandelwal in the lead roles. The romantic comedy follows the story of two chefs, played by Divyanka and Rajeev, who are ex-lovers that are brought back together after eight years. The web series premiered on ALT Balaji and Zee5 to relatively positive reviews.
