As a writer, director and producer, Yash Chopra is considered the king of Bollywood romance. His films of the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s were famous for their stunning locales in Europe - particularly Switzerland - and he has worked with the industry's biggest names.
After splitting from his elder brother B.R. Chopra in 1973, Yash Chopra set up Yash Raj Films as his production house and now encourages new scripts and filmmakers under the banner. He managed a casting coup for his film Silsila, when he brought together Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan and Rekha, who was allegedly involved with Amitabh at the time.
Considered the most powerful person in Bollywood, Yash is married to Pamela and has two sons - Aditya Chopra is a director and Uday Chopra is an actor. They both play a key role in the running of Yash Raj Films.
