Known as the Amitabh Bachchan of the small screen, Ronit Roy first became popular on TV playing Rishabh Bajaj on 'Kasuati Zindagi Kay'. Later he took on the roles of Mihir Virani on 'Kyuniki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi', Aparajit Deb on 'Kasamh Se' and Dharamraj Mahyavanshi on 'Bandini'. He has bagged several awards for Best Actor, Best Actor in a Negative Role, Best Television Personality, and Star of the Decade, among others. Ronit actually made his Bollywood debut with 'Jaan Tera Naam' (1992) but didn't get too many movie roles after. Following his success on TV, he has also taken up more interesting roles in the movies including, most recently, playing the authoritarian dad in 'Udaan'. He is also a very successful businessman running a security business that provides protection for Bollywood stars and production houses. He is married to Neelam Singh and they have two kids. Ronit's younger brother, Rohit Roy, is an actor as well.
