Mandira Bedi came into the limelight after playing the lead role in the 1994 TV serial "Shanti". Since then she has acted in popular TV serials such as "Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi" and hosted several game and reality shows on TV.
She is a successful model and has also appeared in several Bollywood films such as "Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge", "Dus Kahaniyan", "Shaadi Ka Ladoo" and "Meerabai Not Out". But Bedi's main claim to fame is that she was the first woman to host a cricket show in India setting a precedent for many more women to appear on sports programmes.
Her attire and comments as a cricket show host have often got her into controversies, but she continues to be a popular presenter at cricket-related events.
Mandira is married to film director Raj Kaushal. In June 2011, after nine years of marriage, Mandira and Raj had their first child - a baby boy named Vir.
