Madhur Bhandarkar is a well-known T'town director. He made his directorial debut with 'Trishakti' which bombed at the box office. After taking a two-year break, Madhur made a comeback with 'Chandni Bar'. The movie, starring Tabu as a bar dancer, won massive critical acclaim. He won a National award for this film and for his next ventures 'Page 3' and 'Traffic Signal' too. Madhur's films, including 'Jail', 'Corporate', 'Satta' and 'Fashion', see him exploring different worlds. While his movies have won awards, his personal life has been controversial at times. In 2004, he was accused by small-time actress Preeti Jain of having had an affair with her and promising her a role in exchange. Preeti even filed a case against him. A few years later her claim was dismissed by the court.
Most recently, Madhur directed his first romantic comedy 'Dil Toh Bachha Hai Ji'. The movie didn't do too well at the box office but Madhur has put that past him and is now working on 'Heroine' a biopic on a Bollywood actress's life starring Aishwarya Rai.
