Kareena Kapoor shares a coronavirus meme to emphasise the importance of the vaccine

The actress shared a Tom & Jerry video on her Instagram page

Kareena Kapoor Khan has been a strong advocate for vaccinating India ever since its deadly second wave.

Today, the actress has posted a light-hearted Tom & Jerry meme to emphasise the importance of the vaccine. You can see it here below:

The video meme shows Tom, labelled as ‘covid-19’ whilst Jerry symbolises ‘immunity’. Tom tries to confront Jerry however, he is faced by a stronger, larger version of the mouse which is labelled ‘first vaccine dose’. Another, much larger mouse appears labelled ‘second vaccine dose’ and Tom stops his attempt to catch Jerry as he is much more powerful. The entire meme is an analogy of how the vaccine strengthens the immune system against Covid-19.

Kareena supported the post with the words: “We don’t realise that our kids are also absorbing what’s going on and they are scared too. We were talking to Tim to try and explain why all the adults need to be vaccinated and I think this sums it up pretty well. It’s really that simple. But like we explain to our kids, we too need to be patient and help everyone who is trying to help us — medics, pharma, authorities and the millions of volunteers — please register and wait for your turn.”

This is not the first post from the actress regarding India’s Covid crisis.

Yesterday she took to Instagram to share a short note reminding people to wear their masks when out in public.

It said: “It’s unimaginable for me to know that there are still many people who do not understand the gravity of the situation our country is in. The next time you step out, or wear your mask under your chin, or flout the rules, spare a thought for our doctors and medical staff. They are at a breaking point both mentally and physically. Each one of you reading this is responsible for breaking the chain. Now more than ever, India needs you”.
