Abhishek Bachchan is back to the movies after a long while with his film The Big Bull that releases on DisneyPlus Hotstar on April 8, 2021. The film is a crime drama film directed by Kookie Gulati, produced by Ajay Devgn, Anand Pandit, Vikrant Sharma and Kumar Mangat Pathak. The story of the film is based on real events of the financial market that took place between 1990 and 2000 involving Harshad Mehta and his financial crimes. It also stars Ileana D’Cruz.
Abhishek Bachchan is always politely responding to the most atrocious and insensitive pieces of unwarranted criticism that keeps coming his way, despite him perpetually establishing that being Amitabh Bachchan’s son hasn’t given him the kind of success people think he could have got.
A Twitter user wrote, “No wonder why one can never match the bar set by team #Scam1992 .. no unwanted rap song, only theme music.. no unnecessary drama, to the point writing.. and most important is the flavour Red heart “Gujarati ke upar kahani banane wala, act karnewala, direct karnewala … Sab Gujarati”
Responding to this tweet, Abhishek wrote, “Hey, just came across this tweet. I’ve acted in #TheBigBull does it count if I love Gujarati food and my favourite restaurant is @gordhan_thal in Amdavad? Plus my manager is also Gujarati….. please say yes.”
Joining the thread, another user poked AB and asked, “Name one gujju food item that you love to validate the tweet.” Junior B promptly responded and wrote, “Lachko dal.”
Despite constant comparison with director Hansal Mehta’s superhit webshow Scam1992, Abhishek has kept his cool and continued to establish in the press that this version of the story is more about digging down history and cinematic. Mehta has openly supported and appreciated Abhishek for this attempt.
