'Brahmastra': Decoding the First Teaser

'Brahmastra' is an upcoming film starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan. The film is directed by Ayan Mukerji and here we try to figure out what the film is all about

Ayan Mukerji’s much awaited Brahmastra is revealing what it’s about but it’s a gradual process and everyone is piecing together a puzzle. Apparently from the film’s reveal itself, the audiences are meant to keep guessing.

Amitabh Bachchan tweeted a video with Brahmastra’s logo today.

Earlier this week, Ayan Mukerji, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt had appeared at the Kumbh Mela to reveal its logo that was appearing in the sky with the help of drones.

The teaser begins with Ranbir Kapoor’s voice saying, “Sir, is there a weapon that is in pieces but when joined it is in a circle and there’s a symbol on it?”

Amitabh Bachchan’s voice replies, “Our pride, our history’s greatest treasure that contains the power of the whole universe in it.”

“What weapon is this?” asks Alia Bhatt’s voice.

The Lord of the Weapons – Brahmastra!” states Amitabh Bachchan and the logo appears as the music goes in crescendo.

“Why do I keep seeing it?” asks Ranbir.

“Because you are connected to the last battle of the Brahmastra, Shiva!” answers Amitabh Bachchan.

From what we can guess, Brahmastra is going to be a cross between The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. Ayan Mukerji had said that 'Brahmastra' "resonates with the “ancient wisdom, energies and power” and that the film is a "contemporary film with ancient elements."
Brahmastra is a trilogy and Brahmastra’s current film is the first part of the upcoming three films. The film is set to release by the end of this year. We’re really wondering how many teasers (read: puzzles) will come in the next nine months.

The film also stars Mouni Roy, Dimple Kapadia and Nagarjuna Akkineni.
