Box Office Collection: 'Manikarnika: Queen of Jhansi' Finishes at 132 Crores
Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika finally finished its run at the box office and has a worldwide business of 132 crores
Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi almost finished its run at the cinema and collected 132 crores in total. It collected 90 crores at the domestic box office, while the rest were collected on the international domain.
The film earned this amount in seven weeks of its run at the cinema. Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is the story of the Queen of Jhansi who fought against the British. The story is of Rani Laxmibai (Kangana Ranaut) who has long known to be an inspiring figure in the subcontinent’s history.
According to Box Office India, this is a little less than the business done by Tanu Weds Manu Returns. Tanu Weds Manu Returns was a romantic comedy film with Kangana Ranaut starring in double roles.
Manikarnika ran into a lot of controversy as the director Krish also spoke up against Kangana Ranaut’s directorial debut. However, Kangana Ranaut’s film went full steam ahead and managed to rake in good numbers at the box office.
Kangana’s next film is Mental Hai Kya where she is paired opposite Rajkummar Rao. The film is a black comedy drama thriller which is to be directed by Prakash Kovelamudi.
Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan and Tapsee Pannu’s Badla has gathered steam and has managed to match Captain Marvel. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, the film is the remake of the 2017 Spanish film, The Uninvited Guest. Captain Marvel is the first film in the Marvel Comics Universe where Carol Danvers (Captain Marvel herself) makes an appearance. The film’s total business stands at 53 crores.
