Akshay Kumar’s film Kesari has had a decent run at the box office and continues to fly. “Kesari had a strong extended weekend of 78.25 crore nett with Sunday growth of around 15% which is limited but all the films screening were pretty flat this Sunday be it Badla, Captain Marvel, Lukka Chuppi or Total Dhamaal,” said the trade website.
According to Box Office India, Kesari has fared well and is now at 78 crores. In a few days, says the site, the film will emerge ‘as a hit’.

Kesari tells the story of Hawaldar Ishar Singh and his 20 other Sikh soldiers who were manning the fort of Saragarhi. The fort was attacked by Afghan invaders who were ten thousand in number. The 21 soldiers battled to their death and their fight is hailed as one of the world’s iconic last stands.
Starring Parineeti Chopra in a special appearance, the film is directed by Anurag Singh and was released on March 21, 2019. In 2019, other films at the box office such as Uri: The Surgical Strike, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, Total Dhamaal, Badla, Luka Chuppi and Gully Boy have done well. Among these Uri: The Surgical Strike and Total Dhamaal have done the most business so far but Kesari has had the biggest box office opening of the year. Smaller films such as Milan Talkies, Photograph and Mere Pyaare Prime Minister have failed to do well. Upcoming films include PM Narendra Modi, Romeo Akbar Walter and Kalank.
