Arjun Kapoor can’t catch a break. None of his past films have worked at all. Not Namaste London, Not Arjun Kapoor’s action flick, the 2015 feature film, Tevar, a remake of the 2003 action drama Okkadu, which was also a commercial and critical failure. His romantic comedy, Ki & Ka, may have been panned by many critics but it was at least a commercial success. It was made in 10 crores but earned 100 crores. His later films Half Girlfriend and Mubarakaan also were commercial failures. After the debacle of Namaste England, Arjun is going to star with Parineeti Chopra again in Dibakar Banerjee's Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar.
“Indias Most Wanted is a dull affair though it had growth of around 35% on its second day,” said the trade website Box Office India. “The two day business is 4.25 crore nett.” He will appear in Ashutosh Gowarikar's period war drama Panipat and appear in Anurag Singh's romantic-comedy Singh & Kaur. Despite Arjun Kapoor's repeated failures, he still seems to have an impressive lineup.
The box office has been kinder to relative newcomer Vicky Kaushal whose film Uri: The Surgical Strike has emerged as the highest grossing film of 2019 so far. Karan Johar's Kalank tanked badly as well as other smaller films that couldn't make the impact. Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy earned around 140 crores at the box office in India and earned 237 crores worldwide. Avengers Endgame has been the highest successful film at the Indian box office this year with 367 crores so far. Kesari and Total Dhamaal each earned 154 crores at the box office and also emerged successful.
